Message from Dr.C.Muthamizselvan-Director-Chief Architect of the programme

Dear Colleagues,

Greetings from Chennai. We all know the definition of project as “A temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product or service” and project management is “The application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project objectives to meet stakeholder needs and expectations”. While organization are designed based on relative permanence of relationships, project is a temporary endeavor. Though there are some commonalities with management of organizations, approach to project management is different requiring different thinking and training. The principles of project management are universal in their application and they are not specific to any domain as it is generally believed. Keeping growth of Indian infrastructure which is likely to be the highest after China and requirement of project management professional, SRM University and Project Management Institute, one of the largest body of project management professionals association in the world, designed a five day short term training programme (STTP) in association with ISTE for faculty working across engineering disciplines and management. Complete details of the programme is given in the attached flyer. I request you to nominate your colleagues in your institution. If you have any further informational needs, please do contact the coordinators. Expecting to see you at SRM University on 30 July 2012.

Yours truly,
Dr.Muthamizhchelvan
Director (Engineering and Technology)
